SUMMARY:2-day Oar Making Workshop – Instructor: Mike Bretner
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this course closes March 19th to allow for cou
 rse preparation.\n\nThis hands-on workshop guides participants through the
  process of crafting a traditional wooden oar from start to finish. Partic
 ipants will learn about oar design\, layout\, balance\, and blade shape\, 
 then use hand tools such as planes\, spokeshaves\, and rasps to shape thei
 r oar. The course includes instruction on fairing\, sanding\, and finishin
 g techniques to ensure strength\, durability\, and comfort in use.\n\nNo p
 rior experience is required. Participants will leave with a completed oar 
 and a solid foundation in traditional woodworking and boat-related tool sk
 ills.\n\nSkill level: Beginner to intermediate\n\nOutcome: One finished 
 wooden oar\n\nMinimum class size: 4\n\nMaximum class size: 8\n\n(Exact st
